You set your sights

and strategized,

so as to gain

the thing you prized.

You took the risk

and labored hard

to win a role

of high regard.

Yet you failed

and felt great loss,

and to another

your prize was tossed.

A reeling blow,

you’re feeling down,

and now know not

what way to go.

Take one more step

and then another,

but really though,

why should you bother?

Perhaps next time

you’ll win the day!

You have to act

and pay to play.

There is no other likely way.

Get out there now,

command the light –

and fill your life

with great delight.

And let your soul take flight!
